Great news! In September 2007, Bill 171 passed in Ontario allowing registered dental hygienists to ‘self initiate’. How does this benefit you? Now you and your family have direct access to oral hygiene care.

Both tooth decay and periodontal (gum) disease can effect your health and are mostly preventable with proper dental hygiene. Visiting a dentist’s office for routine teeth cleaning can be more expensive. Although insurance plans do cover regular dental hygiene care, for those who do not have insurance or for patients needing frequent cleanings, visiting an independent dental hygienist may be a more economical option.
